East Cape Manuka Oil is a powerful natural bactericide and fungicide which is gentle and soothing on the skin
East Cape Manuka Oil helps to fight infection, soothes irritation and helps to relieve pain and inflammation.
East Cape Manuka Oil is used externally for its bactericidal and fungicidal effect. Research has confirmed that it is effective against bacteria such as staphylococcus and streptococcus including antibiotic resistant strains.It is also significantly effective against some fungii, including athletes foot. Manuka (Leptospermum Scoparium) has long been valued for its healing ability. It has been traditionally used on its own, and in combination with other native plants to treat a range of skin problems such as chronic sores, ringworm and eczema. It was also used for rheumatism, sore and stiff backs and sprains. Inhalations including Manuka have been used for helping blocked sinuses, hayfever and bronchitis.
Research has confirmed that East Cape Manuka Oil is at least twice as effective as Australian Tea Tree Oil against gram positive bacteria (staphlococcus and streptococcus) including antibiotic resistant strains.
East Coast Manuka Oil has also been found to be beneficial for stress, nervousness and anxiety and is becoming widely used in aromatherapy, where it is added to massage oils and oil burners.The main ingredients are only found in high concentrations in the Manuka trees growing in a small area of the East Cape of New Zealand, and are tested to ensure that these ingredients are present in high concentrations. The oil is produced by low temperature steam distillation without the use of chemicals. The Manuka is sustainably wild harvested from naturally regenerating trees that have not been genetically modified or sprayed with pesticides, herbicides or any other chemicals.
Directions: Apply directly as required, or use diluted with vegetable oil for sensitive skin.
- Cold sores - Apply 1-2 drops 4-5 times per day as soon as you feel the tingling sensation.
- Fungal Infections, Athletes Foot, Nail Bed Infections - Apply a few drops twice daily. Continue to apply for 5 days after visible signs of infection have gone
- Head Lice - Add 20 drops of Manuka Oil to a normal amount of shampoo and massage into wet hair and scalp. Leave for 10 minutes befor rinsing. Repeat daily until clear. You can then add 20 drops to your bottle of shampoo to help reduce the chance of re-infestion
- Itchy Scalp and Dandruff - Add 10 drops of Manuka Oil to a normal amount of shampoo and massage into wet hair and scalp and leave for 5 minutes before rinsing
- Minor Scratches and Abrasions - Cleanse area using 10 drops of Manuka Oil in a small basin of boiled and cooled tepid water
- Pimples - Apply Manuka Oil as a spot treatment for problem areas
- Aching Muscles and Joints - Add 20 drops of Manuka Oil to 50ml of vegetable oil and massage into tired and aching muscles.
- Colds, Blocked Nose and Sinusitis - Use 10 drops in a bowl of hot water and use as an inhalation
